Threaded through one of the day&#8217;s earlier panels was the notion that consumers are now in control and interested in their own content. Models are being turned upside down and businesses realize that it&#8217;s no longer a broadcast but 2-way world. It was all very<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Web_2.0\"> Web 2.0<\/a>.<br \/>\nThere was a panel on <a href=\"http:\/\/publications.mediapost.com\/index.cfm?fuseaction=Articles.showArticleHomePage&#038;art_aid=45127\">online advertising<\/a> and Gary Arlen has written a piece on the conference&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ipdemocracy.com\/archives\/001697handicapping_the_net_neutrality_vote.php\">Net Neutrality panel<\/a>.<br \/>\nSidebar: advocacy groups continue to set the standard for getting the word out with campaigns like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.savetheinternet.com\/=swag\">this<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Digital Media Conference was held in Washington, DC June 23rd.
